An alternate history in which the enemies of World War II suspend hostilities to fight invaders from outer space. In this, the third volume in the series, a shortage of gasoline has forced them to fall back on World War I-style regiments of cavalry, horse-drawn artillery and troops of cyclists. They have also resurrected a banned weapon, poison gas.

L'idée de départ est géniale : des extra-terrestres reptiliens lancent une attaque sur la Terre en pleine Seconde Guerre Mondiale, forçant les Alliés et l'Axe à réétudier leurs positions stratégiques face aux nouveaux envahisseurs. Le récit est parfois un peu long dans ce premier volet, mais c'est suffisamment intéressant pour me donner envie de lire la suite.

A surprisingly entertaining read that keeps up a nice pace, is unique and quirky in terms of content that was overall a quite enjoyable and easy to read 650 pages.

I'll certainly continue with the second book in the series eventually...
