Review of 'Jesus and the Eyewitnesses: The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
The arguments put forth by the author of this book apparently fly in the face of the commonly held views of modern theologians about the development of the New Testament. But on an historical and onomatological level, they make a good deal of sense. By using extensive analysis of personal names in the bible and in the society that produced it, the author perhaps makes part of his argument opaque to those who are not familiar with this field of study. To me, however, it was the book’s strongest point.
