Eli reviewed The Korean War by Max Hastings (Pan Grand Strategy)

4 stars
The book exploring more about the Korean War through the lived experiences of numerous war veterans. He looks at the politics surrounding the war, why it was a focal point for many to invest in, fearing the communism spreading further if not contained and pushed back in Korea. Also explained more about the relations of different countries historically, e.g., between Japan and Korea. Interesting to also see the difference in the country's economics, which previously was just agriculture, growing crops, and then had to adapt to the state of war, other countries' influences, taxes and inflation.
