A depressing read. The blurb on the back essentially tells the whole story, albeit in a different way than I expected. I thought her relationships were going to be solely platonic, and that Sam would come around earlier; I would have preferred the story to go this way, though I believe the author was trying to pack more of an emotional punch this way.
