It's set during a bit of an awkward period after the fall of Troy, where the Greeks are stuck in a camp waiting for the weather to turn so they can go home. There isn't much hope for the Trojan women, most of whom are now slaves, with the exception of Briseis who is now a wife. So while I liked returning to her story, there wasn't a huge amount going on and I found it a bit depressing. I think the third book is meant to follow the journey home, so I may still read that. I guess trying to follow the myths so closely means you can't sneak in happy endings for your favourite characters.
