I got that book because of its author, who plays Tara in Buffy. The book is the story of Calliope Reaper-Jones who, as we learn quite quickly and guess from the title, is Death's daughter. Problem is, Death (Calliope's dad) got kidnapped, and Calliope inherits from the family business for the time it takes to fix everything. Calliope absolutely doesn't want the job, so she goes to find her father (and sister who had the bad idea to get kidnapped at the same time). Verdict: it's a nice read, but it's not a great read. Didn't hate it, but probably a quick read that will be quickly forgotten.

I'm glad this book was a free giveaway, because I'd be very annoyed if anyone had wasted any money on it. The premise sounded amusing and could have been, but the main character is such an unlikeable, useless, deliberately obtuse idiot that is impossible to either cheer for her or suspend disbelief enough to get caught up in the story. The fact several other characters actually decide to LIKE the main character is completely beyond belief. What a waste of an interesting premise.
