Such a beautiful book about Auschwitz survivor. He escaped several times only to then be captured again for either his passport as German or for his faith as a Jewish person. One could never belong when people only see the label they want to see.
But he survived due to his knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering and was lucky enough to find his best friend and sister again after the horrors ended. The author has since let an active life to spread his happiness to still be alive and how to appreciate every moment and person around. An inspirational man and his story does make one think and reconsider. I liked the way he said not to argue with your mother, who is always there to support and love you. Plenty of other people to argue with, like a person littering the street.
Really lovely book.
