Up next I’m continuing my read through of the Pocket #StarTrek novels with Vulcan’s Soul, Book I: Exodus (2004) by Josepha Sherman and Susan Shwartz #StarTrekTOS #bookstodon
Finished The Case of the Colonist’s Corpse (2004) by Bob Ingersoll and Tony Isabella and I have mixed feelings about it. The novel is about a murder case where Sam Cogley is brought in to defend a Klingon.
I’ll start with what I liked. Cogley is a character I really enjoy from the #StarTrekTOS episode Court Martial. He loves books in an age of computers and is a brilliant lawyer and that’s on full display here. 1/6 #StarTrek #bookstodon

It's World Whale Day.
Scotty: "Admiral, there be whales here!"
"I've seen old photographs of this period. An economic upheaval had occurred." Kirk "It was called Depression, circa 1930. Quite barbaric." Spock- The City on the Edge of Forever, Stardate: 3134.0 #StarTrek #StarTrekTOS #IDIC #Quote

Kirk: "Second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning"
Finished Gemini (2003) by Mike W. Barr and I enjoyed it but had a few issues. The book focuses on a planet with conjoined twins as rulers that’s divided by the decision of whether or not to join the Federation.
I really liked the focus on the conjoined twins. That’s something rarely (if ever?) seen elsewhere in Trek and it made for an interesting exploration of what that experience might be like and how each twin is similar and different. 1/5 #StarTrekTOS #StarTrek #bookstodon

Worst Case Scenario is probably in my top 10 of all Trek (not just Voyager). Seska has always been one of my favorite villians!

Finished The Last Roundup (2003) by Christie Golden and I really enjoyed it! The book serves as a bridge between Star Trek VI and Generations with a story focused on a new colony. 1/7 #StarTrekTOS #StarTrek #bookstodon
I know there are people around here who are much more knowledgeable about #StarTrekTOS then I am. I'm wondering: was it common for the show to sometimes film pick-up scenes or reaction shots weeks later (up to 2 months), while another episode was already in production? 1/2
When I first posted about #StarTrekTNG's "Data's Day"➡️ I neglected to compare Picard's wedding speech in the episode with Kirk's in #StarTrekTOS' "Balance of Terror"⬅️, so I'm making up for that now! 🙂
