KA reviews "Forecast" by Aaron Ryan:

"I was eager to read Forecast because of this intriguing premise: what if an everyday person was granted the knowledge about the tragedy in advance, and the power to stop it?... Forecast brings the world of the early 2000s back to life, creating a vivid and compelling “what if” timeline of that dark day of American history. 5 stars."

Poor bloke. No matter what the final book is like, he's going to disappoint people when it's compared with their imaginary perfect masterpiece.

Had to DNF "Before The Coffee Gets Cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

Holy smokes this book is dull. Just overly repetitive and does anything to avoid getting to the point. This wouldn't be so bad if each chapter was about 50 pages long, but each page in each chapter reads like a JRR Tolkein novel.

I got up to 92 pages before giving up the towel, reading ahead, finding the big revel, and then going "urgh, I guess?"

It's difficult to get any reviews. Editorial reviews are impossible. Kirkus Reviews is the editorial reviewer I'd been inclined to pay for, and I did so for The Fifth Seduction, but they've become terrible. Is it worth being able to pull a few positive quotes from a Kirkus Reviews review? This one doesn't even have correct grammar. They pay their reviewers almost nothing and charge independent authors hundreds. At least require a reviewer to invest in Grammarly.
