The 10 Best Sci-Fi Books About Climate Change

It's cli-fi time! A portmanteau of “science fiction” and “climate change,” “cli-fi” has been rising popularity at the same rate as our climbing seas!

"In the near future, Earth’s climate crisis has become so untenable that world governments come together to form “The Ministry of The Future” – an organization given the legal right to ensure a livable world for coming generations"

My publisher promoted my book the other day and it was so lovely seeing the cover there on the screen, I thought, 'I should share it more often.'

So here I am, sharing it.

Alt-Ctrl was published in September 2019 and since then, so much has happened and changed in the world, but thing I wanted most to say with this story is that in times of desperation, when corporations are all-powerful and you think you can't do without them because they control so much of your life, the answer might lie in being brave, and relying on each other. Looking for a weekend read? Rebecca Campbell's THE OTHER SHORE is now available on Netgalley. If you loved dwelling in the west coast forests of ARBOREALITY but wanted more of their dark history and their technological future, THE OTHER SHORE is a trip you shouldn't miss.

I bought this book for myself when I was getting a birthday present for my niece. Great premise. Set in 2050, themes of climate change, human-nature relationships, ethics of rewilding. Main characters are two young sisters, and they're children of a lesbian couple (which is very much a background point, as it should be, because that's not what the story is about – but I really love that it's there).

So far I'm really enjoying it. Middle grade fiction, would suit 10–12yo reader (or anyone who loves a good story)
