Finally took the time to clean out my dead succulent's (don't ask how I managed to kill a succulent of all things...) pot, and replanted a small cactus in its place. Also cleaned up some other plants that had some dry leaves. Most relaxing 30 minutes I had in quite some time. Thinking about picking up some more plants in the coming weeks!

First blooms of the fall sunflowers (Helianthus maximiliani, “Santa Fe”) are starting to appear. I think this will be a good year, as long as the weather stays on the warm side. 🌻

I have a wooden house in 🇯🇵 although the foundation is concrete. I was weeding my garden, to stop the ragwort and some wild grass from strangling my mint, oregano and chamomile (the latter may have given up, tbh). Anyway, I saw a lone termite near a dead tree stump in the soil. I saw a lot of normal ants, but just one termite. Is everything basically OK? #gardening #園芸 #シロアリ

It’s rainy and dark.

These Wooly Kate tomatoes are supposed to become a dark purple shading to orange. Pretty sure they’re doomed but letting it play out.

The cucumber seems genuinely ecstatic.

A couple of days ago, I mentioned in a comment to this other post 👉🏻 https://gram.social/p/elsua/878255321518915566, how I'd be sharing later on in the week a snap shot of a recent development with the white hibiscus in the terrace parterre. Well, here it is ... I am now the proud caretaker of a hybrid hibiscus that has decided to bloom with these stunning colours of an intense white with a large patch of red / pink on the left side. Like W T F ?!?!

How did that happen?!? 😳 I think it's the first time *ever* I see an hibiscus going hybrid while blooming. My goodness, it's gorgeous, isn't it? I think I'm in love ... 🥰 heh

Oooh, in the snap shot you would be able to see as well both the jasmine in the background and the mighty sansevieria watching the spectacle, I guess 😜

1) I don't recall my milkweed going to seed before, so this is cool!

2) I was hoping for monarchs, but it's great that these little guys are so happy (there were a bunch of them, but I only got a good picture of one). I think they are Milkweed Bug nymphs. Not sure if they are the Large or Small variety.
