About half way through The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty. It's a swashbuckling tale of a 13th Century Arabian pirate, complete with magic, sea monsters, demons, betrayal, etc. It works well in #audiobook format and I am enjoying it so far even though the transitions in the story are sometimes clunky. #FridayReads #Books #Bookstodon #Fiction #Adventure @bookstodon

Finished #audiobook The Truth of the Divine by Lindsay Ellis, book 2 in the Noumena trilogy. The audio production suffers from some characters speaking so faintly that they can barely be heard. Other than that, this series is good #scifi. It's different, captivating, and really delves into the characters both human and alien. Unusual story, highly recommend. TW: self harm.⭐ ⭐⭐⭐ #bookstodon
Just finished listening to a corruption of blood by ambrose parry. Its the third book in the raven crime series, set in victorian Edinburgh. Dr. Raven is the assistant to the famous dr. Simpson and lives in his household together with the former maid sarah, who he solves a series of murders with. Definitely worth a listen to people who enjoy crime fiction or historical novels.
