. Der Zither-Manä rockt dazu auf der Zither, die Evelyn Huber schlägt dazu auf der Harfe den erdigen Groove und der Helmut Eckl schleudert aberwitzige Satiren ins Publikum. Weihnachten findet heute überall, aber nicht im Fraunhofer statt.

Nächstes Jahr wieder, heute wollen wir nur an saumäßigen Spaß für 50 Jahre Fraunhofer.

This is something I wrote on Dreamwidth in October. I think some of you may find it interesting. I myself am beginning to study all of this, as I am fascinated by the singing methods and knowledge of the time. It is a bit difficult doing it being blind and unable to read music, but fortunately, there are ways around that. My perfect pitch and good memory for lyrics also helps.

Below, you will find various links related to theory, harmony and counterpoint, and a comparison of older and modern methods of teaching and singing. While this relates to choirs and opera, it also relates to the theatre, particularly operettas and such.

Today in Labor History November 3, 1793: French playwright, journalist and feminist Olympe de Gouges was guillotined during the Reign of Terror (1793–1794) for attacking the regime of the Revolutionary government and for her association with the moderate Girondists. Her writings on women's rights and abolitionism reached a large audience in many different countries. She was also an outspoken advocate against the slave trade in the French colonies. In her Declaration of the Rights of Woman and of the Female Citizen (1791), she challenged the practice of male authority and the notion of male-female inequality.
