For today's Horror Friday I‘ve got a special one for you! A very recent find that has until now been mostly overlooked in print and academia. It is also very special because it is one of the very few true Portuguese supernatural horror narratives in the 19th century, and a really great one at that! The short story in question is apropriately named „A igreja profanada“ (The cursed church) by the Portuguese realist and politician Manuel Pinheiro Chagas. (1/4)
