Visiting the @HSBXL lately, after all these years, was a lot of fun. Loved the friendly, open culture and the mix of languages. There was one language moment I found particularly interesting: There was one conversation in French somewhere in the room, which I couldn't really listen in (my FR skill is still WiP) - but I heard #Merdification and my brain triggered: "Oh, they are talking about @pluralistic 's #Enshittification.". And yes, the FR #Wikipedia article has that translation, too :-)
Rereading one of my favorite books which seems eerily prescient right now: It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis. Doremus Jessup is one of my favorite characters!

Today I installed the @kiwix mobile app on my phone and downloaded Wikipedia mini with it (7.4 GB). I downloaded in the background and it took less than an hour (and that's through VPN).
Now I have offline Wikipedia on my phone as well. It's that easy.
