A new year⦠and the world celebrates and sends gifts, but here in Gaza we greet it with fear, the sounds of explosions and gunfire, terrified babies, and hearts that never find peace. We're not envious of the joy, but we're pained by the difference. The situation is very difficult, and we need your support and prayers. In 2025, students around the world came together to challenge their schools' complicity in the Gaza genocide. Despite heavy repression, they won major victories, including divestment and commitments to cut ties with Israeli institutions.

Israel has been panned after saying it will suspend more than two dozen humanitarian organisations from working in Gaza.
The countryās ministry of diaspora affairs said the organisations that would be banned on January 1 did not meet new requirements for sharing staff, funding and operations information.

I canāt stop thinking about whatās happening in Gaza right now. Israel is forcing out the organizations that actually save livesāDoctors Without Borders, the Norwegian Refugee Councilāwhile groups that have harmed Palestinians, like GHF, are being handed awards and bonuses. #gaza#palestine
I see that MSF is one of the aid organisations being banned from working in Gaza. The stated reason is a failure to abide by registration rules, the real reason (imo) is the fact that the organisation provides almost a fifth of medical care in Gaza (and 1/3 of child birth care). Having provided logistics and analytic support to MSF in a number of countries (not Gaza) and seen their work at first hand this disgusts me.
NEW | Sanctioning Truth: Francesca Albanese and the Price of Exposing Israelās Genocide
Journalist Chris Hedges recounts traveling with UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, now relentlessly targeted by Israel and the United States for documenting an āeconomy of genocideā in occupied Palestine. Days after publishing her landmark report, Albanese was placed under U.S. sanctions, her finances frozen and her work criminalized, measures Hedges describes as punishment for āstanding steadfastly with the oppressed.ā
Her report names dozens of major corporations profiting from occupation and genocide, describing Israelās rule as a system with ālittle oversight and zero accountability,ā where war crimes become business. For this, she has been silenced, isolated, and threatened, barred even from entering the U.S. to brief the United Nations.
Despite the repression, Albanese continues her work, documenting systematic torture in Israeli prisons. āItās that bad,ā she says. āItās systemic torture⦠people are taken, raped and ā¦

Despite the repression, Albanese continues her work, documenting systematic torture in Israeli prisons. āItās that bad,ā she says. āItās systemic torture⦠people are taken, raped and brought back.ā She recounts women who āhave lost their wordsā after repeated sexual abuse in detention.
Albanese also exposes the role of Western media in suppressing Palestinian truth. āThey didnāt write a line about it,ā she says of major outlets, accusing them of blocking reporting that challenges Israeli narratives. āThere is no free media anymore,ā she warns.
āWhat is happening to the Palestinians and to those who are speaking out for the Palestinians is the 2025 equivalent of burning witches in the public square.ā
"Israeli forces have carried out strikes across the Gaza Strip as they continue with their near-daily violations of the ceasefire agreement, with Israelās genocidal war on the besieged enclave continuing apace and displaced Palestinians enduring the destruction of their few remaining possessions in flooding brought about by heavy winter rains."
"In the United States today, people refer to rising fascism here and I think about genocide there, whether in Gaza or Sudan, or genocide then, 80 or hundreds of years ago. We protest a prison at the mall here and must also remember prisons everywhere, from the Everglades to Egypt and El Salvador, while recognizing how everyday sites around us are proximal to systems of violence."
"Israel has announced it will stop dozens of aid organisations working in Gaza within 36 hours for failing to meet stringent new requirements to hand over personal details of Palestinian and international staff deployed in the devastated territory."
I never imagined begging strangers to keep my children alive. I am a mother of three with no home, no work, and no income. Cold nights and hunger surround us, and one child depends on daily medicine to survive. This is who we are, we do not turn away from children in need.š https://chuffed.org/project/155233 @evan @sandradejong @Geri #gaza#palestine
