Hello there,

I'm deeply involved in software engineering and cloud architecture, with a keen interest in
at the moment. Currently, I'm delving into:
- Exploring the wonders of Phoenix and LiveView.
- Diving into PostgreSQL, Ecto, Oban, Mimic, and Tailwind CSS.
- Embracing the principles of functional programming as I go along.

My ultimate goal? To become a master of Elixir, building websites on Phoenix with the same speed and finesse as I do with Angular.

With a background in Angular/TypeScript, Python, and some experience in Data Science over four years, I've contributed significantly to companies like Survation, where I played a key role in building up their current online infrastructure.

Now, I'm on the lookout for a low-key gig, around 10 hours a week would be perfect.

Curious to learn more about me? Take a peek at my site:
maikel.dev.

I'm freelancing under the name Maikel OÜ, …

I invoke the power of the hashtag

(these are 2 toots, please boost)

I'm a software engineer and cloud architect. Currently working with more than anything else:
- Phoenix & LiveView
- Caches, Ecto, Oban, Mimic,
Learning a lot about functional programming in the process.

Would LOVE to stay within the same language enough as to actually master it and be able to create a site on it as fast as I can using Angular.

Background of Angular/TypeScript, Python and some light Data Science for Survation for ~4 years. Let alone I designed and deployed their entire online infrastructure.

Does anyone know a more accessible explainer about libcluster topologies?

My use case is that most nodes need to connect to every other node, but there are one or more “special” nodes that should only connect with each other and I can’t figure out which strategy to use to prevent them from auto connecting 🤔💭

This article is all about how things are looking great for hiring Laravel devs in 2024, and I’m not seeing it.

I’ve been job-searching for 3 months, and very, very, very few of those jobs are decent-paying / jobs. Sure, PHP/Laravel jobs exist, but most (anecdotally) pay far less than the rate others are willing to pay for , , , , , , and developers.

The industry does not value the output of PHP developers.
