Whether they are true believers in "everybody must be Christian" or just using Christians for money or power, there is no place in our country for Christian nationalism/theocracy and the intolerance and "copper-age" beliefs they espouse. This group/movement has been completely infiltrated by insurrectionists like Flynn and Trump who may view it as the best path for America, but most likely just want a theocracy that they control as they dismantle our constitutional, liberal, muli-ethnic democracy.

""The group, Pastors for Trump, is drawing sharp rebukes from mainstream Christian leaders for being extremist, distorting Christian teachings and endangering American democracy, by fueling the spread of Christian nationalism," reported Peter Stone. "The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based evangelical pastor and businessman Jackson Lahmeyer leads the fledgling Pastors for Trump organization. Lahmeyer told the Guardian it boasts over 7,000 pastors as members and that he will unveil details about its plans on 11 May at the Trump National Doral in Miami, an event Trump will be invited to attend."
"Lahmeyer said the pastors group intends to sponsor a 'freedom tour' with evening church meetings in key swing states this summer, an effort that could help Trump win more backing from this key Republican voting bloc which could prove crucial to his winning the GOP nomination again," said the report. "Lahmeyer described the genesis of Pastors for Trump in dark and apocalyptic rhetoric that has echoes of Trump’s own bombast. 'We’re going down a very evil path in this country,' he said. 'Our economy is being destroyed. It’s China, the deep state and globalists ... China interfered in our 2020 elections,” he added. “This is biblical what’s happening. This is a spiritual battle.’"
Other Christian groups, though, are not on board with the political message of this project.
“This kind of overt embrace of white Christian nationalism continues to pose a growing threat to the witness of the church and the health of our democracy. This pastor and this effort are trying to impose a Christian theocracy. It’s imperative that Christian leaders of all backgrounds including conservative ones speak out about this effort as a threat to our democracy and to the church," said Adam Russell Taylor, who runs the Christian organization Sojourners. Amanda Tyler of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty agreed, saying, “For years, Trump has tried to co-opt religious leaders to serve his campaign, even attempting to change long-standing tax law to allow dark money to flow through houses of worship.”
Flynn in particular has close ties to the Christian nationalism movement, which rejects the secular founding of the country and believes that America is a country for Christians and should be governed by Christian law. Its activists are trying to build a political power machine, including a nationwide group that drafts legislation for state houses.
Even some longtime Republican allies in the evangelical movement are not receptive this time around, the report noted.
"Dr Everett Piper, the ex-president of a Christian university, in November wrote an op-ed entitled 'It’s time for the GOP to say it: Donald Trump is hurting us, not helping us.' Piper wrote that in the 2022 midterms Trump 'hindered rather than helped the much-anticipated ‘red wave’,' said the report. "Likewise, the Iowa based president and CEO of the Family Leader Bob Vander Plaats, has tweeted about Trump that 'It’s time to turn the page. America must move on. Walk off the stage with class.'""
Kacsmaryk is not acting like a judge, he's acting like an advocate for making abortion illegal. The "science" he cites in his ruling is highly flawed and he ignores countless sound research studies in order to reach his predecided opinion. This wasn't a considered judicial decision, this was a fishing expedition to justify a pre-decided conclusion. This guy should be removed from the bench immediately as he shows signs of being unable to reason outside his pre-existing conclusions and a bias that threatens a sane review of the facts in any decision. He isn't ruling from facts, he's ruling from fundamentalist conclusions that are contrary to science rooted in religion instead.

"A Texas judge’s decision to invalidate federal approval of a key abortion drug cites research based on anonymous blog posts, cherry-picks statistics that exaggerate the negative physical and psychological effects of mifepristone, and ignores hundreds of scientific studies attesting to the medication’s safety.
...
Kacsmaryk’s ruling is the first time a court has suspended a medication’s approval after rejecting the assessment of a human drug by the FDA, considered among the world’s most stringent regulators.
...
“If it were just up to the science, this case would be thrown out,” said Daniel Grossman...“We have over two decades of science showing how safe this is.”
In the days since Kacsmaryk’s ruling, the scientific community has raised alarms about increasing legal and political attempts to undermine the science that informs modern medicine. Kacsmaryk, a Trump judicial appointee, is presiding over another lawsuit by anti-vaccine advocates who accuse media companies, including The Washington Post, of colluding to censor their views on coronavirus vaccines and treatments.
...
The study identified a higher risk of adverse events among patients undergoing medication abortions compared with those who had surgical abortions, but the judge’s analysis neglects a crucial point: Significant complications were extremely low in both groups.
...
Heikinheimo said in an interview that the plaintiffs — and now the judge — were purposely misunderstanding his work and overemphasizing “adverse events” despite overwhelming scientific evidence of the drug’s safety and the study itself noting the rarity of serious complications. ...
“The political game has nothing to do with the scientific process,” he said.
...
Among the hundreds of clinical trials using mifepristone over two decades, more than 400 were randomized controlled studies, which are considered the gold standard of research design.
Kacsmaryk instead peppered his ruling with data from researchers affiliated with the Charlotte Lozier Institute, an Arlington, Va.-based antiabortion group whose website proclaims its mission to “expose the harms of the FDA’s current abortion pill policy that simply ignores the known risks.”
...
An analysis by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of hundreds of published studies found that “serious side effects occur in less than 1% of patients, and major adverse events — significant infection, blood loss, or hospitalization — occur in less than 0.3% of patients.”
“The risk of death is almost non-existent,” according to the group’s amicus brief...Complications from wisdom tooth removal, colonoscopy and Viagra use carry greater risk, they said.
...
Both statistics, according to the footnotes in his ruling, came from a study based on several dozen anonymous blog posts from abortionchangesyou.com. The website is run by the Institute of Reproductive Grief Care.
...
“This is roughly like reporting a statistic that ‘83% of people are fans of Judge Kacsmaryk’ without mentioning that the entire sample consisted of posters on JudgeKacsmarykFanClub.com,” Unikowsky wrote in his newsletter.
...
But Kacsmaryk chose not to refer to more rigorous studies on mental health that have shown that the most common emotional response after abortion is relief, Grossman said...The 10-year study found that abortion does not hurt the health and well-being of women and did not increase their rates of depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts. Being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term, on the other hand, was associated with negative health effects.
...
The repercussions of Kacsmaryk’s decision reach far beyond the battle over abortion...said the disregard for FDA expertise could threaten any drug or vaccine that has already received approval.
“It shows you how important courts are going to be in undermining or undercutting the science,” she said."

"Whiteness is the eradication of culture in exchange for privilege."
Is a quote that I heard today from @margaret
on Cool Peope Who Do Cool Stuff that explains 3 separate things that I haven't been able to square in my mind.
1. People of color, like Enrique Torres, in the Proud Boys.
2. Why I was raised as a poor Southern white male and not an Irish/Scottish American. My ancestors gave up their culture, in exchange for whiteness.
3. The existential angst that many white males experience.

What would you do if you wanted to spread a lot of #art or needed to get a mass message out IRL?
Got Wheat Paste?
"To cook wheat paste, use four parts water and one part flour. Start by boiling your water. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour with enough cold water to create a lump-free goo, then pour this mix into the boiling water. Turn the burner down low, and stir continuously for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat, and stir another 10 minutes. Wait until cooled to use.
Print your poster on thin paper so the paste can seep through, preferably 20-pound, uncoated bond paper. Once on site, use a wide paintbrush to add a layer of paste just slightly larger than your image. Press your poster into the paste, pushing out any air pockets. Paint another layer over the top to seal."
