When Spock said that he wad been left out by Vulans in his childhood in #StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans"⬆️⬅️, it immediately reminded me of these moments in "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier"➡️, #StarTrekTAS' "Yesteryear"↙️ and "Star Trek" (`09) ↘️.
The Strange New Worlds opening credits are delightfully insane.
Back in the day we got excited by a ship on an invisible stick moving fast.
Now we have Mothra, a gigantic roman candle, and a comet so chill it leaves ice on the hull as it passes by.

I just re-watched this episode, and really enjoyed the latter part of it. I like the idea of Spock being an "un-Vulcan Vulcan" and having both the Klingon commander and Pelia bring that up. I love Pelia's explanation to him about what the worst thing is about living so long, especially her comment about him being sweet, and about everyone sharing the grief of losing people one loves. I really liked all the looks on Spock's face as he made the decision to fire the torpedos and possibly kill Chapel in the process. I also loved the discussion between hungover Spock and the admiral at the end. I guess they don't have the handy anti-hangover drug yet at this point in time. Spock drinking with the Klingon commander is both impressive and hilarious, especially him responding to an untranslated line of Klingon with "Indeed." #StarTrek #StarTrekSNW
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is definitely my favorite Star Trek since TNG and Voyager, and Carol Kane is just perfectly cast.
Pelia, who is a Lanthanite - is a long-lived humanoid species. She's the chief engineer on the Enterprise, and has suggested that she is over 5,000 years old. In this scene, she hasn't responded to a serum that is supposed to turn her temporarily into a Vulcan.
I just finished watching "Four and a Half Vulcans" and I think SNW has conquered its most difficult Star Trek trope yet: a BAD episode which is nonetheless extremely enjoyable.
Later today, I shall treat you to the complete visual history of Vulcan plomeek soup, covering #StarTrekTOS, #StarTrekDS9, #StarTrekVOY ⬆️, #StarTrekENT, #StarTrekDiscovery and #StarTrekSNW ⬇️. It's definitely hot! 😜

Here's a better look at the stunning dorsal shot of the USS Enterprise in #StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans".

#StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans" features this nice "Transmission Terminated" screen (when Chapel ends the call with Dr. Korby). I'm sure this might come in handy eventually, so here it is for you guys. 😉
Don't we want Captain Pike to have a slightly older brother who stays away from baffle plates?

That LSD (LDS? 😜) really must have been big in the 60's (...and 90's and last July), according to Kirk in "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home"➡️ and Pelia in #StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans"⬅️. :-)

In the "katra space" of La'An's own mind in #StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans", a live-action Cetacean Ops, including several beluga whales, is seen. Cetacean Ops was first mentioned (in dialogue and door signs) on #StarTrekTNG, then first seen on #StarTrekLowerDecks.

#StarTrekSNW's "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans"⬆️ we finally saw wonderfully purple Vulcan plomeek soup again, similar to the onw (and served in the same kind of bowl and plate) as the one seen in #StarTrekTOS' "Amok Time"⬇️, Both times, the soup was cooked by Nurse Chapel. :-)
And the latest... Not so much. I have the feeling SNW never quite knows now what it wants to be. Stupid fun? Old trek in new look? But the last episode felt like bad comedy. Meh. #StarTrek #StarTrekSNW #StrangeNewWorlds
Just watched "Four and a Half Vulcans". If you don't like camp, or don't think Trek should be funny, don't watch it. I loved Lower Decks, and I laughed at this even more. So much fun!
