Quite different from the planetary #scifi I associate most with #UrsulaKLeGuin , the story of a man whose dreams change reality, and the sleep doctor who exploits him. Written with her trademark elegance and wisdom, with shifts between quiet interiority and 'big budget' spectacle that only literary sci fi can offer. Přednášky, úvahy a eseje jedné z nejdůležitějších autorek fantastické literatury o tom, že fantasy a sci-fi bylo a stále ještě je, v určitých literárně snobských kruzích, hanobeno a bráno jako něco podřadného, něco, co je určeno jen dětem.
Útlá, ale podnětná knížečka se spoustou zajímavých informací, úvah a tipů na dobré knihy a autory a pro skalní fandy Ursuly K. Le Guin povinnost. Její láska k žánrové literatuře je tu přímo hmatatelná.

But we share the same vision: a future in which we’ve tackled the environmental and social justice issues of our time in a way that brings humanity, nature, and technology into harmony. We dream of green, community-centered cities; of high-tech, ethical farms; of pollution-free skies and plastic-free oceans. We dream of a world of abundance and inclusion, with equitable resource distribution and flattened hierarchies. We know we can’t achieve this by following the same path we’ve been walking; we must work together to blaze a new and better trail.

Just finished "The Left Hand of Darkness", by Ursula K. Le Guin, and it was a masterpiece of world-building!
This book should be taught in schools. Seriously, this is the kind of classics which young people might grow from. A book that allows you to become more, to expand your imagination, and enter new territories of thought.
Again - a masterpiece!
