The thing about Ray Bradbury is that over the course of a page he'll throw ten poetic devices at you, and at least one of them will make you wonder how it ever made the final draft, but the other nine will be brilliant. It's that special sort of sloppiness that you only get from a true virtuoso.

As much as I enjoyed reading M. R. James, I think I overdosed a little reading the whole collection, so I'm very much looking forward to a slight change of pace with Ray Bradbury!
I loved Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Martian Chronicles, and afaik the received wisdom is that Bradbury is at his best with one-off short stories, so I have high hopes for this collection 🤞
