Once I learned about Hamsun's racist political views, I had a very hard time separating the book from the author. I almost didn't finish it. While others view Hamsun as a literary genius, I can't overlook his racism and support for Hitler. I won't read anything else by him.

This was a good history of the regicides. It tells a largely forgotten and overlooked part of Colonial history. It was also nice to be able to read a book about some of my ancestors and relatives.
