More transgender theory!

I did not expect this book to be a GPS guides missile aimed directly at me, an American expat in Europe going through mid-life crisis, but it is, and maybe that’s why my first thought is that it’s a masterpiece. But that would be unfair to some of the prose, which is sublime.

Up to #28 on the Modern Library list. I am looking forward to the break from English novelists.

That was a really essential and validating read. I’m grateful that it is informative, constructive and critical.

I’ve been excited for this book (which I did a tiny tiny amount of fact checking for) and have a nice long flight to read it.

I feel as though I have climbed a mountain, but the mountain outside my town, that most of my friends have already also climbed.

#38 on the Modern Library list, read during my flights. I’m not sure I would have rated it so highly, as its motions seem right but lacks a certain complexity. It’s a story about the inescapability of class, but there are better ones I think.

Onto #38 on the Modern Library list, I’m excited for what should be another exploration of class and inequality.

Finally diving into this classic, needing to read it and prepare for a project I might undertake this fall.

This was awesome, cannot wait for the second book. I found some of the characters a little hard to follow, but the worldbuilding emerges to something interesting, if somewhat unbelievable.

My goal was to read some non-classics fiction last month. I failed, but can make up for it with some scifi.

This book is about a civil war! Imagine that!

Using my flights to get into some medieval European history, which I should know more about. Also, buy (and read) your moots’ books!!

No. 48 of the Modern Library list is finished. This book was originally banned for obscenity for its depictions of sexual desire in the constraints of English society, and so the ban proved the book’s point. The latter half of the book excels. One sees herself in Ursula.
