We loved this book until the fantasy, "and everyone lived happily ever after," ending. Yes, it feels good, but it is out of character from the book and too unrealistic.
While it would make the book a short story probably, we feel the ideal ending would have been at location 3184, "It will be all right, she told herself, and she stepped out of the boat into the water.
But hey, we know we will be in the minority.
