This was fun. Claire is a little twee with her refusal to curse. But at least that comes to a head and plays into her finding her power when she finds her voice. I kept wondering if this was going to slip into Romance territory with Lucan, which it didn't. Very Avatar The Last Bender, with Claire the master of all the elements. But that's okay. I intend to keep reading the rest of them as the audiobook come out.

Becoming Crone by Carol Schneider, Lydia M. Hawke (The Crone Wars, #1)
She wanted purpose. She found dark magick and war.
For Claire Emerson, there is nothing ordinary about turning sixty.

This is not a good book. I started with the audiobook but I couldn't get on with the Norwegian accents, which I assume are terrible renditions. I knew the setting was post-apocalyptic Scotland and so thought at first it was really bad Scottish accents. But no. The werebears are from Norway and looking for their ancestral homeland. The heroine is so annoying. If I could remove all her inner dialogue I think it would be an improvement.
Magess finished reading All Systems Red [Dramatized Adaptation] by Martha Wells (Murderbot Diaries, #1)
That was fun. I wonder how much I missed listening to an audio drama version over the standard audiobook. They chose a male actor for murderbot's voice, so having a male actor announced for the show doesn't seem as weird as I imagine it would if you had read text and imagined a different or no voice.

Content warning Lucky Witch ending
It seemed like the books had been building toward Holly choosing Nick over Adam, so I'm surprised that this ended with her denying him and going back to Adam.
I was also feeling Adam's frustration with Holly constantly asserting that he's not allowed to do anything without her permission.

Lucy's annoyance with Holly was so obviously about feeling like she was stealing Lockwood away from her that it was hard to like her for good sections of this book. Not saying it's an inaccurate depiction of how people act. Just does not get my sympathies when she finally accuses Holly of a bunch of insults that Holly never actually threw her way.

A good follow up to the first one. Idris is really starting to piece things together. I enjoy the sense that there are multiple political factions at work, and one of them is definitely 5 people on a junker ship.
