Not Quite a Faustian Epic

While still a Discworld novel and still an enjoyable read, Eric has never been one of my favorites. It does, however, have one or two excellent points to make about the world and its people and how what we wish for isn't always what we'll get.

This book in a lot of ways feels both like a culmination and a new beginning. Alice has found her Thomas, and they're back in the dimension they belong to.
I love Incryptid. I love this family, which reminds me so much of the loving chaos of my own found family. And I'm glad I finally get to see Alice get her happy ending. She's not one of the Prices I easily identified with (nor is the granddaughter most like her, Verity), but she has been there from the beginning, the throughline of the stories, popping up when you least expected her (but most needed an explosion to happen).
These are the books that hooked me and made me love Seanan's work, and I devour every one, and every one has touched me in a different way.
