Brandon Sanderson (author): The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive #1) (Paperback, 2010, Tor Books) 5 stars

Widely acclaimed for his work completing Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time saga, Brandon Sanderson now …

The world (especially the history) is fascinating, the characters are interesting, but I must admit to being impatient for the plot to get going. This was definitely not a problem in other books I read by Sanderson.

This is a slow burner. The world rapidly becomes fascinating, but it is now that the plot is really starting to thicken. I found it hard to slog through the first few chapters, but I'm feeling that it will be really worth it.

reviewed Popcorn and Poltergeists by Nancy Warren (The Vampire Knitting Club, #9)

Nancy Warren: Popcorn and Poltergeists (EBook, Ambleside Publishing) 5 stars

Is there a murderous poltergeist on the loose?

When an Oxford professor is killed by …

Ghosts, Books, Vampires and Knitting

5 stars

Another great mystery following Lucy the inept knitter, amateur sleuth and novice witch - this time investigating two terrible falls at a university library and the disappearance of an original Bronte manuscript and a original handwritten copy of Frankenstein.

These stories are seriously getting better and better. This book came dangerously close to getting five stars.
