A Sikh detective on the outs with his Singaporean bosses goes to Kuala Lumpur to investigate a murder, seemingly commited by a woman from Singapore. The victim is her ex-husband, who was so determined to gain custody of their children that he converted to Islam to take the case to a sharia court, where he would be more likely to win. Singh suspects the woman, who claims innocence, though she's hardly a shrinking violet and was determined to fight for her children's custody, may be telling the truth. A nicely plotted mild mystery with an interesting setting.
