An interesting, unsettling collection
4 stars
Ivy Grimes has put together an uncomfortable collection of stories here. Using weird fiction to explore things like social anxiety, family, guilt, and gender, there's a creeping dread underneath most of the pieces that sticks with you long after reading.
BenLockwood finished reading Anthropocene or Capitalocene? by Christian Parenti
Some of the essays here are stronger than others, but overall a collection of work that challenges the Anthropocene's placement of responsibility for environmental crises on humanity writ large, rather than capitalism as a social formation.

Pretty good
3 stars
The world-building is what's most interesting here, but there's enough plot to keep you engaged. There's some really interesting ideas about ecology, society, and politics throughout the narrative.
