I primarily read science fiction, but I will also read some general fiction, and even an interesting autobiography.

I love The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I'm not sure if anything I'll ever read will supplant it as my favorite thing to read.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: Wind, Sand and Stars (2002, Harvest Books)

A lyrical account of the author’s time as a pilot flying the dangerous mail routes …

Picked this up because someone on Lemmy posted a quote from Saint-Exupery. Not sure if it was from this book, but I don't care. The writing is exquisite.

Hugh Howey: Beacon 23 (Paperback, 2015, CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform)

By the time I got to the end I had forgotten it was by Hugh Howey. I like the ideas it talks about, but I'm too much of a pessimist to believe any of it could actually happen.

Haruki Murakami: After Dark (Hardcover, 2007, Knopf)

Murakami stories are always easy to read for me. This one seems to have more horror elements than the ones I've read so far, but who knows how it'll turn out?

H. P. Lovecraft: At the mountains of madness

This took its sweet time to get to the interesting part, and then abruptly ended.

As my first ever H. P. Lovecraft book I have to say it hasn't exactly inspired me to read any more. I suppose I have to give him at least one more chance, though, because it seems like everyone regards him highly.

Ray Bradbury: There Will Come Soft Rains (2000, Perfection Learning)

Very short story. I like Ray Bradbury, I think. I've only read something by him two times.

This one sounds so futuristic, but then certain parts of the technology make it clear that it was written a long time ago.

I like that it was set in the distant future of 2026.

It's getting more interesting as it goes, but it's a bit of hard work. The outdated language and writing style is a bit off-putting.
