A pretty fun book, but a bit light. I wouldn't really call it science fiction, at best it is videogame fiction. Even so, it doesn't really speculate on things that don't exist yet as much as smash all of them into one book, make them widely distributed, and cheap. From a game design perspective, it seems to take a few steps back. When the game that people are playing isn't WOW, it is a 3d version of an old arcade game, or worse dragons lair. But dragons lair for people that quote entire movies.

Some of the plot points don't make a ton of sense, like the fact that debtors prison and indentured servants are legal, but the US government is still a functional institution. Those seem like mutually exclusive points.

The over arching plot was force into a nice three act layout, and I am glad it was. It kept the book at a fast pace, and exciting as well.
