Dialogue Sucks

The man knows his stuff, he can write a pretty bang up medical mystery but having read a few of these over the years I can confidently say that the man must not listen to many conversations or hold many non-professional ones because his dialogue always feels stiff and unnatural in response to the external situation. This seems to be true of a more recent work I've also begun reading in NIGHT SHIFT.
