Review of 'Death Note, Volume 11' on 'LibraryThing'

4 stars

This volume really filled me with excitement, even though it frustrated me a lot as well; having read all 12 volumes in a quite short space of time, I've found Ohba's style of writing to be quite linear. Nothing wrong with that, but it's like reading all of the adventure of Sherlock Holmes in a row: you get to know the author and the author's style of writing. Even though this book exemplifies Ohba's writing to a t and he is very good at twisting the plot, it left me itching...a little bit less than I thought it would, considering the entire series is due to end. Despite that - and the fact that Near irritates me slightly by being too Godlike in my opinion - I'm very happy to be reading this series, as there's nothing really like it out there (not to my knowledge, anyhow).
