I'm reading this along with several other books (listed below) to think more about this idea of ideas and knowledge more as something that grows AND shrinks over time and not as a purely upward trend towards endless access and wisdom. Sort of idling wondering about what present or future losses on the scale of the Library of Alexandria would be like. How do we actually preserve information over long long periods of time?
