Nathaniel Philbrick: In the Heart of the Sea (2000) 4 stars

Review of 'In the heart of the sea' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

The story that inspired Moby Dick, told exceptionally well by Philbrick, is a real-life Odyssey surpassing most fiction. The author's scholarship (about such topics as Quakerism, survival psychology, cannibalism, racism, starvation, sailing, and whaling) enriches the tale without being obtrusive, and inspires me to learn more. Excellent work!
