Inexcusable characters, ignoble morality, inflammatory situations, inalienable hilarity (sorry K)

Review of 'Mysticism, Ritual and Religion in Drone Metal' on 'GoodReads'
4 stars
Extremely insightful and detailed analysis on the history, culture, and folklore that surrounds Drone Metal; very academic (sometimes to the point of appearing dull, such as in the first chapter), yet delightfully rich. The author has a way of analising discourse that is absolutely fascinating, greatly emphasising the way people talk about personal experiences, and what it means to refer to something through analogy, simile, or metaphor. It might drone on and on (heh) at some points of the text, but it nonetheless is an extremely enjoyable read.
