I read the previous book in this series. Synthesis: Weave and had a hard time finishing it. The second book is no different. The author spends so much time trying to write about everything under the sun for a scene.. any scene for that matter that it's mentally exhausting. The books read like a television serial, if you ask me. Just to give an idea of how the writing is. There are no less than 54 instances of characters folding their arms over their chest in the middle of a conversation as a response. Sebastian, who didn't show any promise of being a leader or hero of any sorts in the first book, is worse in the second. My desire to know more about the magic and the unanswered questions from the first book was in vain as this book raised more questions than it answered. There's a third and …
