Wow this book is dreadful. I don't know how people are into this. It's not just the fantastical completely unrealistic movements of the characters and their settings. I easily power through that in good literature like "20K Leagues Under the Sea" or even mediocre literature like "The Wreck of the Titan". It doesn't even have to be things like they didn't know better, like in 20K Leagues. It's just a question if it is totally superfluous. In this case it was and it was repeatedly. Over and over. Characters jumping pretty much all over the content faster than they could with Star Trek transporters and for no necessary reason. Characters behaviors making absolutely no consistent sense even within the story's universe. The big character reveal and "aha" made absolutely no sense, was completely fleeting, and did nothing connected to the story. How did this get made into a movie and …

It was a quick read of classic science fiction. Set in a dystopian society in which 21 is old and 22 means death, Logan's run is a simple reflection of the fears of the future. Overall, it was interesting but seemed more like a long- short story with minimal character development, little depth of plot and no real motivation aside from wanting to live.
