She still 1 of my favorite current authors. The 1st of her books that I read was in her Oak Knolls series that worked from the point of view of the nineteen eighties or so, before there was common cell phone, DNA evidence, etc. She was able to build convincingly in that environment, and now that she's in the more modern environment, she approaches the story appropriately for the times, and equally enticingly! As usual, the characters are complete and consistent, and they make the reader want to know more about their lives and how murder investigations fit in with their routines. This series has the added twist of ministry about crime itself and whether the story is what it seems. There are so many different directions that the mind can continue to take and still be with the underlying story!
