I'm usually not a fan of detective or courtroom fiction, but this was a pretty solid entry in this genre. In a nutshell: a woman is murdered and her husband - a defense attorney - stands accused. His lawyer is his former law partner, who has come out of retirement to take on this case and who is friends with the detective who is helping the prosecutor make the case against him.
There's enough intrigue and character development to keep the pages turning - and the writing is solid enough that it doesn't feel like a throw-away mystery. All in all, a fun read.
