interesting, a little depressing, but ultimately "responsible" ending to the saga. I think that I'll miss the characters, knowing that this series is over. It's another one of those series to which I will continue making sequels in my brain, knowing full well that any continuation that I make just won't fit. Fortunately, I'm not a writer and I have no intention of foisting these thoughts onto anyone else :-). If I were ever to write, I can't think of any current works, including this one, of course, to which I could do justice. I'd have to start with my own ideas… But that's neither here nor there…

Well, I just finished reading (listening to-this time TTS) it again, and I still really like it! I had totally forgotten most of it from the first time, but every now and then I got a brief flash from before. I think that I like the second and fourth books of the five best, but all of them were really good. It's nominally a kids book – the main character is 11 or 12 depending on how far you are through the series – but it definitely involves some real and critical philosophy. Theoretically, Gregor is 12, but he doesn't act 12, much less think like a 12-year-old! I highly recommend the entire series!
