Review of 'the rhetoric of fiction' on 'Goodreads'

No wonder this book is considered a classic in its field. Throughout its 500+ pages of thorough analysis of narrative voice and the implications of each choice an author makes Wayne Booth's own voice is charming and loveable (if at times persnickety).
My greatest takeaway here is to read a lot more Henry James and Flaubert!
