The book, with separate stories, seemed to go really well, until the story lands on the teenagers from Mississippi. At that point, everything collapses for a pile of stereotypes and high school gossip that felt endless. That also derails some of the remainder of the book, since the stories never quite connect.
The Premise is another blackout happens in New York. These are stories, mostly about romance, during that blackout. What takes it to another level in my opinion, is that while all the stories have links to one another, one of the authors splits her narrative into 5 or so parts, to fully flesh out the links to the other stories.
