I am so bad at reading nonfiction. This is the first nonfiction I've finished in at least 5 years (the one before this was Freakonomics for a work book club).
I think the author talking a little bit about her own journey made a neat framing for the historical narrative thread of the book, although to be honest, I was fairly annoyed with her insistence on ineptitude at knitting. I guess it's important to stay humble, but the kind of things she was saying she was too afraid to try left me rolling my eyes.
Anyway, if it was my first nonfic finish in so long, I guess that says a lot for the quality of writing!
