How do you handle life between your destiny and your relationships? What if you're worried the hero is losing their edge?
How many throw away pulp plots to destroy/dominate the world can Martinez come up with?
The Constance Verity books are meta and it's fun to read self aware pulp.
The love interest characters can be a bit too strange and sometimes the discussions or monologues about the nature of destiny are a bit too long.
However Martinez is as fun to read as ever, fun and funny through depth.
