A deeply observed portrait of an outsider, set against thinly-veiled portrait of the luxe life in the Hamptons. My main problem was not wanting to spend time with the trainwreck of the main character, but that perhaps misses the point of the artistry.

I knew there were folks who did not like the ending of this book, and near the end I finally realized - it probably stops short of the dramatic moment folks want to see. And that’s indeed how it goes, so if that will bother you, don’t pick up this book
