This one I found to drag on throughout the rising action of this particular plot. The climate felt weak and then we were hit with a very emotional resolution that was heart felt and had me tearing up at some points. I’m glad Heep is back as he’s an interesting and genuinely concerning villain in the story. Here’s to hoping book 6 is better.

Do note that this is one of the more depressing books I’ve read from Lasky. There’s a lot of death and grieving. Thus is the way of life. Unfortunately, not many wild animals tend to survive such natural disasters
