El príncipe de la niebla

Der Schreibstil hat mir nicht so gefallen und die Ausdrucksweise der Figuren kamen mir dafür, dass es Kinder/Jugendliche sind auch etwas unpassend vor. Könnte aber auch an der Übersetzung liegen. Das Verhalten hat für mich manchmal auch nicht so viel Sinn gemacht.

Guardaba muy buenos recuerdos de él, y el tiempo los ha respetado. También fui algo atravesada y éste fue el último libro que leí, empezando por Las Luces de Septiembre. Quizá ahora sea capaz de ver ciertos detalles que por culpa del desorden no vi; descubrir secretos que en la inocencia de mi juventud pasé por alto, e interpretar lo que disfruté en su momento de forma totalmente distinta, y quizá más plena.

Lo único de lo que voy a quejarme es de que el libro se tendría que haber aprovechado mejor. Se nota que está destinado a la juventud, porque hay partes que se han acelerado para no aburrir al lector de dicha edad. No es malo del todo, pero se podría haber sacado más jugo de la historia de Viktor si, en lugar de contarla con tanta facilidad, hubiera sido necesario más esfuerzo, y por supuesto, se hubiera visto más que relatado como una anécdota del anciano.

Quitando eso, es un libro de diez, tierno a la par que inquietante. La figura de El Principe de la Niebla me sigue dando escalofríos, y el jardín de estatuas pobló mis sueños durante mucho tiempo. Recomendadísimo.

I loved Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s book The Shadow of the Wind, so I was eager to try some more of his works. I knew this was one of his Young Adult books so I didn’t expect the same level as excitement from this book, but I probably did expect a lot more. While The Prince of Mist is full of adventure, magic and gothic themes, I kind of felt like there was a lot missing from the story and maybe it was rushed a little too much. I understand the idea of having short books for the Young Adults but this book kind of left me hanging, with no sense of closure, I know its is setting up for the next book in the series, I just was expecting it to feel like Max’s adventure with the prince of mist was over; and I didn’t feel that at all. Zafón is a really great writer and this is more for a younger audience; I’m glad I read this but I would of liked more from it.
