Another great Rainbow Rowell novel
It's a great read, and Rowell managed Cather's exploration of physical attraction without using cringe-worthy cliches or making you feel embarrassed for Cather whilst reading it.
Easy and enjoyable but just not as good as her others. I'm not sure I was won over enough by the fan fiction aspect. Full review to follow.
Fun, fast, engaging YA novel about twin sistes who go to their first year at the university. Cather and her sister have been huge fans of a Harry-Potter-like fictional character, and Cather has been writing gay fanfic about him that has absorbed her as a writer and found thousands of fans. Her outgoing sister Wren wants her space and won't be roommates with Cather, which leaves her feeling abandoned and scared. Making friends is hard, even if school isn't. As Cather balances her classes, fanfic, and budding friendships, Wren goes all out for the freshman experience, including binge drinking. At home, their father isn't doing well and the mother who abandoned them years ago wants to be back in their lives, though at a distance. I enjoyed reading this book. Also, I am allergic to romance and perfect hunky guys. Still and all, very enjoyable.
