These lectures ostensibly on the fathers of the three famous Irish artists were most often a Joie de Vivre. While I was disappointed by the disjointed middle stanza about John B Yeats - especially the second part of that essay, the essays on Wilde and Joyce were stirring. I yearned for more about Joyce, but ultimately it probably said all it needed to say without dipping into other peoples quotes and letters in the way the Yeats stanza did.
